Nothing seems to go right, nothing I plan comes to fruition. Everyday seems like a day of catch up instead of progress. I just want to curl up in a ball and say “What’s the use?” and just become stagnate.

My day is full of battles; I put out fires, I add new uncompleted tasks, I’m running around in circles, the unexpected always seems to happen!

My lack of daily progress leaves me…………

Have you ever felt that way?

Have you ever wondered why you even try?

Have you begun to question your purpose?

Do you feel unproductive?

Do you feel defeated?

Just because life doesn’t seem to “go our way” doesn’t necessarily mean you are unproductive. Productive means ‘Having the power of producing…”

So who gives us this power? The power of produce comes from God…from obeying and being faithful to his purpose.

We seem to have tunnel vision at times. Just because your day, week, month or year has become unproductive in your eyes doesn’t necessarily mean your defeated. If you want to feel productive daily you need to look at things another way.

Look to the side of the road for unseen obstacles and not just straight ahead. Look in your rear view mirror to avoid a collusion of things from the past. Follow the map to ensure your on the right path. You know the final destination, make sure your being guided down the right road.

You not accomplishing what YOU want to do for the day isn’t necessarily defeat. Unexpected things happen to everyone. We are not in control. When your feeling defeated the first thing you need to do is search God. Read his word, open your heart and mind to HIS purpose for you.

Maybe getting that report finalized is not what God wants you to accomplish for the day. Maybe cleaning the house can wait another day. Maybe you being late avoided an accident.

You need to begin your day asking God to guide you, to strengthen you to accomplish HIS will – DAILY.

What you envision as unproductiveness maybe another step towards putting trust in God. You don’t know your future or what God has in store for you so who are you to judge your progress or lack thereof?

Maybe God’s intentions for the day is to learn a lesson in patience, humility, love, kindness or obedience. Maybe your lack of progress leads you to be supportive to someone who is in more need of God’s grace. Maybe God is still building you up to be strong in the midst of a storm. Maybe God is trying to redirect your life to a higher purpose.

A construction worker knows that everyday doesn’t consist of the actual building process. There are days in which structural integrity must be reinforced. Walls may not be erected that day but when the time comes to build, he is reassured that the building will be properly reinforced to withstand the unexpected.

Lean on God for guidance – trust in him

Don’t be anxious for completed tasks

Actively search for God to move in your life – DAILY

Lord help me to lean on you. Give me strength, energy, wisdom and the power to do YOUR will today, not mine. May I realize that I’m a work in progress, you are in control. I may not see the results immediately but give me the reassurance that YOUR work is being accomplished and I am on the right path, even though the path may not be my vision of passage.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:9-11 NIV)
